Conceived as a community of restaurants and cafés - a food & beverage concept taking more and more traction in the Middle East - Seaway is a promenade with a series of restaurants, a children’s play area, and a “boutique-market” boasting locally sourced, organic produce and food specialties.
Strategically located at the entrance of the city of Saida, facing the sea and the city’s stadium, the project emulates a boardwalk with its large green promenade parallel to the shore, interspersed with 12 pavilions, arranged at different levels in a way to “see and be seen”, with fluid volumes, interconnected by green bridges.
The choice of white silica paint and fairfaced concrete as materials is an homage to traditional Mediterranean houses and the raw structure of the stadium, but it also creates a blank canvas for the restaurants and cafés to become the focal points. A central plaza animates the project with its water features and its “totem”, a led light interactive tower crane.
